Integrating water into a sculptural project, this piece explores the experience of weightlessness. Both the steel plates and the columns begin to vanish from certain viewpoints. Literally portraying the idea of water and nature as support in man made structures, the piece plays off the dynamic between controlled construction and natural processes. As the water rusts the steel and wears away at the adhesive, the steel plates gradually suffocate the plants. As a whole, the sculpture illustrates a simultaneously elegant and destructive relationship being balanced. 2019.
